The Lebanese Dress

Through this project, I wanted to correlate this liberate Arabic attire with Beretta’s feminist approach to clothing through the incorporation of the different layers of fabric that would evoke women’s sherwal while holding on to the designer’s form and tailoring finishes. The end product would be three final pieces; a pair of layered baggy trousers that would be reminiscent of the excess of fabrics used in the making of the sherwal, a paired classic shirt, and an interchangeable coat representative of the countless identities that women assign to themselves.
